Given the base model, a pattern of truncated triangles, varying in size, was arrayed to follow the surface and then removed to create a through cut perforation. Grasshopper was used to computationally decrease the size of the triangle with an increase in distance from the center opening. Given the flexibility of the Grasshopper graph, it was relatively simple to swap out base models and test variations of cut depth for each triangle of the pattern.

Created a Grasshopper graph to array dimple pattern across the underside of the scale, tapering the depth of the dimple to zero at the edges.

Created a Grasshopper graph to translate a pattern developed in Illustrator to model geometry. The diameter and depth parameters of the dimples varied across the surface and were driven by color gradients from Illustrator.

Given the governing surfaces, BWA used Grasshopper to create slots that gradiate from narrow to wide and back to narrow.
